Southern Butter Seafood

It’s a challenge to find a good seafood place (especially on Friday’s during Lent)! BUT I FOUND A GREAT ONE TONIGHT ! I ordered the flounder, shrimp, and okra; my husband had the shrimp dinner with fries and broccoli. Both meals were delicious! The fish and shrimp had the lightest coating and even though I had to sit on Hwy 9 longer due to a car wreck, our food was still crunchy when I got home! The hush puppies were so good, I think I’ll see if I can order extra next time. The staff were super friendly. They were very personable; we talked about lemonade and Arnold Palmers! For the staff to be SO young, they could definitely teach customer service tips to most of the fast food establishments in Spartanburg County! The restaurant itself was nice and clean and they have a good size TV to watch while you eat. I’ll be back!

The fish sandwich was the best one I’ve had. I didn’t know if you put honey mustard, it gets even better! I got one plate with fried okra and the other with their home fries. It was my first time trying okra in general, but this fried okra was very tasty. However, I wasn’t a fan of their home fries to my taste they were way too soggy. Website: I believe they can work on their website. It just seems so plain. All they have on their website is their contact information, restaurant hours, testimonials, and pictures. I know they can do a better job with the presentation of their pictures because they just seem so plain. In my opinion, having their menu on their website could help attract more people. Hands down best hush puppies you’ll ever eat, and the fried flounder and jumbo shrimp are incredible too!! My wife and I went a week ago and had to bring our kids and friends back the very next day! Will be going again as soon as I run off the first 2 visits of indulgence!

The best seafood in town can be found at Southern Butter. Whenever I'm in the mood for seafood, this is the place to go! It was worth the wait to have everything cooked to order! There is just the right amount of seasoning in the taste. We enjoyed the freshness, flakiness, and crispiness of the chicken tenders, shrimp and fish. Besides being delicious, the steamed broccoli that was Not overcooked was phenomenal. It is definitely on our list to return to try other items in the future. We look forward to trying the soups, salads, salmon, and broil. We are excited & grateful for this new resturant that cooks with passion. If pressed for time, I suggest calling the order/s before arriving. Inman is growing; However, many people are coming from all over to try this place out and continue to Roll in numbers! I met someone from Tryon, NC, and Columbia SC-Plus; they handle all surrounding areas & call-in orders, so be patient.

My wife and two boys had dinner here recently. I had the dinner plate with fried whitefish, fried corn, and smoked sausage. My wife had the low country boil with shrimp, and the boys split a fish sandwich plate. The food was fresh and well seasoned. My oldest son made a couple of comments of interest: “Can we come back here” and “That is the best seafood I’ve ever had”. We will definitely go back and I’d encourage you to check them out if you’re in the mood for fried seafood or a low country boil. I’m glad they chose to start a business in Inman! They are conveniently located for us!

Friendly staff. The food was good. Chicken strips with hush puppies and buttered potatoes were very good. Cool little place felt very old school, which is a good thing!

First time here and will definitely be back! Staff was very friendly and attentive and the food was so good and fresh. As a Lowcountry girl, it’s hard to find a seafood place that satisfies me but this place is amazing! Y’all give them a try!

Classically trained chef here! I came out tonight with no expectations and I was absolutely blown away. First and foremost, I have never had seafood that was beautifully cooked as I have here at Southern Butter. The wait was expected as this IS a cook to order restaurant. Our waitress was kind and bouncing around the room tending to the many guests present. Now for anyone expecting a fish camp, don't. There's one in Lake Bowen. I witnessed customers walk out because of the wait and complain about the menu; when I was told in just two weeks the menu changed I was curious as to what the original menu read. To find out that the wonderfully kind owners (Albert and Tan) were getting negative feedback stunned me. As a new restaurant getting their feet on the ground, I have no doubt in my mind with supportive patrons and patience with a hungry belly, Southern Butter seafood can easily become #1 seafood joint in town. For anyone coming for the first, be prepared to wait for perfection because you'll receive just that. For anyone expecting fried fish, of course it's here but please be considerate to the restaurants ideals and not your own idea of what you're walking into. This is a sit down restaurant, one to bring the family to, make memories, and enjoy a fresh seafood boil, and support your local family owned restaurant--you can taste the love in EVERY bite.
